The TWI Institute promotes TWI methods to use employee knowledge effectively through strategies, knowledge sharing, and training.
Originating in the U.S. in the 1940s, TWI contributed to industrial production improvements during wartime and influenced Japanese industry growth post-war. Toyota integrated TWI into the Toyota Production System, a precursor to Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen strategies. The TWI Institute in the U.S. focuses on supervisor training since 2001, while TWI knowledge exchange is facilitated globally through affiliated institutes.
